How long will the renovation take?
The renovation is scheduled to take place between May 10 and Sept 26.
Will it be loud at the library during the renovation?
Yes, during certain times there will be active demolition happening on the construction side of the library. We have headphones available at the Circulation Desk as well as foam earplugs at the Reference Desk.
Will there be a lot of dust and debris in the library during the renovation?
No. The functioning part of the library will be separated by a wall from the construction side. This will block any dust and debris created by the construction. Dust and debris will not be mitigated on the 2nd floor which is why it will be off limits during the renovation period.
What are your hours during the renovation?
We are open 8am-9pm Monday-Thursday and 2pm-9pm on Sunday. We are closed Friday and Saturday. Please see our calendar for specific hours and closings.
Will you have restrooms available?
No. During the renovation, restrooms in the library will be unavailable. Restrooms are available on the 1st and 2nd floors of Mark Clark Hall.
Will you have computers available?
Yes. We have 15 computers available along the back wall. Computer use is restricted to student, faculty, staff and Friends of the Library. We will not have computers available for visitor use during the renovation. Any person seeking access to our federal government documents collection should see a reference librarian for assistance.
Will there be printing available?
Yes. We have one black and white printer available. No color printer will be available during the renovation.
Can I check out a laptop?
Yes. We will be checking out laptops for use outside on the patio. Patrons assume responsibility for the laptop during the loan period. If the laptop is physically damaged, lost or stolen during the loan period, patrons will be wholly responsible for replacement. Please keep this in mind when checking out a laptop for use outside.
Can I check out books?
Yes, but only books located on the 1st floor (call numbers A-HC). Books located on the 2nd and 3rd floor will be unavailable. If a book is unavailable to you, you can use PASCAL Delivers to submit a request.

Yes. Interlibrary Loan and PASCAL Delivers will be fully available.
Will newspapers and magazines be available?

Yes, but very limited. We have set up 6 individual work-spaces along the back wall at the end of the row of computers. These are intended for individual study, not group meeting spaces. There is also study space (individual and group) in the 1st floor lounge in Mark Clark Hall.
Will there be any group rooms available?
No. The only open part of the library is the initial area around the new main entrance from the patio. All other areas of the library are under construction and thus, unavailable.
If am teaching a class this summer and I would like to bring my students to the library for a library instruction session, will there be a place for me to bring my students?
No, however we are more than happy to come to your classroom and conduct a library instruction session. Depending on the wireless capabilities of your classroom, we may be able to bring laptops with us or you can schedule a class in another computer lab on campus. Please contact Elizabeth Connor or your librarian liaison for your school or department to set up an instruction session.
